The Impact of the American Revolution on St. Genevieve
By 1763, St. Genevieve existed as a culturally French community under Spanish governments. The American Revolution broke out within Great Britain's North American colonies along the Atlantic seaboard. We do see that being on the river there, there's some trade happening between the French and the Americans. So there is a little bit of support happening in that sense. And then there's a battle that happens up in St. Louis,. Some would say that without the support of St.Genevieve, that battle lived on the other way.
