The Evolution of Mycobacterium Bovis

People had thought that the disease came from cows to the human population, maybe during the time when we domesticated cows. But 10 years ago scientists have shown that the mycobacterium bovis that you find in cows today is actually derived from human tuberculosis. So it's had a really significant effect on modern human populations and of course that's why all of us at least in the West carry the BCG scar on our arms. You can get vaccinated against it in Europe, but it's becoming, again, pretty probable.
