When the full story of how the mint riots got started came out, the citizens of rome found arelian had passed well beyond displeased. When aurelians harsh justice was done being metred out, the emperor then took the unprecedented step of simply closing the rome mint down for good. This extraordinary measure was undertaken specifically because aurelia did not feel that he could now trust rome to implement his reformist monetary policies.
