Pesticides - What's the Goal of a Pest Side?

One of our biggest pests is a, a spotted winged rasophela, which is a fruit fly. We spray our fruit at certain points of the season to prevent those flies from laying eggs on the fruitm because you don't want to buy fruit at the grocery store that has worms in it. And if we find any worms in that field, we stop picking, like, we're not allowed to sell that fruit at that point. A lot of people think that organic food is going to have less pesticide residues,. which is a huge misconception.
