The Role of Force in International Relations
By the early 1930s, Nehru's liberal idealism had morphed into liberal realism. He was not willing to sort of give up on the idea that in a world where you do not have a world government there is actually no limit on the use of force as far as states are concerned. His ideas were most strongly shaped by the writings of the American Theology in Rinald Neeboor. In 1940, 41, Gandhi wants a Congress party to pass a resolution saying independent India will not foreswear the use of violence and coercion in its thing. And rest of the Congress leaders led by Dvala Nehru say that this is just not possible.
