The Dynamic Temple of Herod

The Temple Mount of Herod was never finished. In fact, it wasn't finished because there was a revolt which started out in 66 or 67 AD. It's pretty clear now that the main hub, the main street that Jerusalem was centered around was actually built during the governorship of Pontius Pilate. And yet as you also indicate, the idea that this wonderful, beautiful temple is not the goal. There's something deeper and even greater than Rome that needs to be defeated.
