How to Start a Long Term Medication Program

Long-acting injectable Naltrexone can be helpful for people who are having trouble adhering to oral medications. If the medication is helping and the patient wants to try cutting back further, then after four to six weeks, you can consider going up on the dose to 100 milligrams. Oftentimes if there's so many reasons, trauma, mental health diseases, other reasons that the patient might be self-medicating with a substance. We know that specifically with alcohol use disorders, there's often co-occurring depression and anxiety.
