In Akan lore, the Odom tree is known as a meeting place for spirits. Spirits famously could not resist the allure of delicious plantains. Anansi tied up some silk to the doll's waist, head, and arms then covered the doll in a sap from a gum tree. Lastly, he placed a ball of E2 mashed plantains in the lap of the doll. The spirit immediately turned red with anger - exactly what Anansi wanted to happen. And just like before, he attached his silk to the fairy and sent her up to the heavens.
