What Makes an Effective Appellate Advocate?
At first instance, particularly in a witness action where there's live evidence, your games need hopefully the skills of managing a witness. In the appellate court, you need to have the skill to analyze the judgment against which you're appealing and identify what you say is wrong with it. There'll be much less of that at first instance,. I say so much will depend on the evidence, but much more of that in the appellate courts.
