The History of Dogs in the Space Program
Stray dogs were selected for the space program because they had stamina and were undemanding. The requirement was that the dogs should weigh no more than six to seven kilograms. Lyca's elliptical orbit varies from 100 to 1000 miles above the Earth's surface. We're observatories listen eagerly for coded radio signals, which tell the space scientists how Lyca is standing up to her lonely journey.
