Borgona Aligote - A Brief History
Aligote cannot carry the name of a village, premier or grand crusete. They must simply be labelled bourgonalegote no matter where in burgundy they hail from. This means that an owner of a grand cre or premier cre site is usually better off in the market planting chardine or pino noir to claim appellation status. Many vinron remember a time when there was a lot more aligote in the area. The spani said to daty and took out all the old bins. There was some not bad t 50 years ago but now it's gone.
