The Discourse of the Image of God in Man

I feel like especially in the American experience, especially over the last 200 years, that we have under realized the importance of the doctrine of the image of God in man. And I think there's going to be new good work done by young theologians in my lifetime on this issue. There is an abhorrence for sort of the negative cultural war approach of the 1970s and 80s among younger Christians; then a terror at what they see as cultural capitulation on the part of younger Christians. So I'm very interested that we do the best job that we can, not to allow voices from the poles of either the left or the right to unnecessarily drive us apart in this area.
