The Importance of Catalytic Converters
The invention of the catalytic converter allowed us to have clear skies and better air that we breathe in the cities. These devices take pollutants and toxic gases such as hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides and turn them into harmless compounds like nitrogen, CO2 and water. Most of these materials work with precious metals such as platinum, palladium and rhodium which is why they are often stolen.
