How ICE Uses Administrative Subpoenas to Collect Electronic Data
Immigration and customs enforcement is using a little known statutory authority to collect electronic data from public schools, abortion clinics. Most of these summons are issued to big tech companies such as Google or Microsoft. Wired found that agents issued customs summons more than 170,000 times during a six year period.
