The Settling of Accounts
Matthew 25 starts in verse 14 Jesus says for it will be like a man going on a journey who called his servants and entrusted to them as property. The settling of accounts is kind of the anchor in everybody's mind of the parable, what the parable revolves around or concludes with. And that would be associated with the day of the Lord, the eschatological judgment. Which then is the parable ends, the last verse with the unfaithful or slothful servant being thrown into the outer darkness with the weeping and gnashing of teeth.
