The Horrors of the First World War
If you were to point to a country in Europe, there was least likely to be at the cutting edge of anti-Semitism and pillering and persecuting Jews it would have been Germany. The thing that's so terrifying about it all is that, yes, there are all these currents that already existed across Western nations before the First World War Britain included. But what happens in Germany after the war? And I think it's very, very different. This is why it's not the true, the Congress of Vienna, or, you know, big wars have been lost before. It's what happens when you lose a world war.
