The point of crypto is increasing efficiency while keeping money sound and not recreating all of the old banking system. I think UST has killed anything in the short term of having a really deep-hagged, globalized, under collateralized stable coin. But once we build the basic pillars of DeFi and then make them universal, then we can start to experiment more and more with the more complex structure and leverage spaces.
