The Shift From Militia Women to Domestic Women
Early on we really see this glorification of the militia woman figure. We see them very much as these glamorous, modern combatants. After about October and November 1936 onwards there is a real shift to looking at women as figures on the rearguards,. Women acting in factories, as in agriculture, as organizing refugees. So I think there is areal shift away from the front.
