Signaling the Close of the Meeting - The Proverbial Full Stop
Using a clear and concise set of phrases allows you to signal to the group that the meeting is coming to an end with a neat and professional feel. No matter what has taken place during the meeting, what has been said or discussed, a clean ending is what is required. Pay particular attention to the downward inflection at the end of the majority of these statements. This helps signal to the audience that no further engagement is required and assists in the clean break from the dialogue. And finally, with the key points highlighted, thanks given to attendees and sufficient sign posting conducted as to the next steps, it is time to signal the close of the meeting.
