The Cost of a College Degree
On average in the United States a four year degree costs tuition and fees twenty thousand dollars a year. That is if you're going to spend four years in college that's four years that you are not in the workforce. If you look at the average American with just a high school diploma who goes out and gets a job immediately after high school the average wage income there is around twenty five thousands dollars a year, so that's another hundred thousand dollars on top of everything else. So in total you're talking about over a quarter of a million dollar investment in a four year education.
