The Importance of Respecting Rules in Multi-Racial Democracy
i'm thinking of so many examples where the rules weren't explicit for me. The shame that we feel when we don't understand the rules is so real and it's such a social barrier. i was invited to stay at my stepmother's parents house on a boxing day and nobody said anything about dress code. I went back up to my little room and sat on my campbed and my stepmother looked on the door and said you do know they dressed for dinner don't you? It was just horrifying like this i'd fallen foul of rules that i didn't even know existed in anybody's house um but actually i think we can so easily do that to other people as well
