The World's First Interactive Browser

The original thought was that there's going to be a world of a whole lot of devices other than pcs. So the problem that is that the sgi that set top boxes were 25 thousand dollars apiece, or whatever. And so we kept trying ad kind of running into a wall figuring out how to get this thing out to the world. The most amazing thing happened, which is mosaic, the first webrows ser was developed at university of illinois. We down loaded the browser, realized if we rewrote it in oak, we could create the world's first interactive browser and actually enable programs to run inside o web pages.
