The History of the Minoans

Around 1700 BC signs start to appear that linked the palaces to serving one political system. The same form of writing was being used in all the palace sites by this stage, as well as the styles and building being much more uniform from site to site. It would seem they had some control over their regions, but it's hard to tell if they served one political system or were separate from each other. A large collection of weapons and defensive equipment have also been uncovered at the sites. All the palace sites were absent of any type of fortification for protection,. which could indicate that early on a large political relationship between them. This combined with the fact it would be much harder to invade their homeland
