There's real fear there you could be made obsolete. The other example I would give is what Steve Jobs did with his Macintosh team. He put them in a small building, geographically isolated, flew a pirate flag over it. And he basically set them up in a competition against the rest of the Apple products. It was a very high selection pressure. So to wrap on this idea, if you're looking to really create innovation, creating small teams that are geographically isolated that have a reasonably high amount of pressure can drive real innovation.
