Energy Policy - I Don't Care About the Price of Oil, I Care About Making It Obsolete

i don't care about the price of oil, i care about making it obsolete. What we need is policy that essentially directs research to make it obsolete. I think there's hard work to be done. It may come from fusion, it may come from other research policies. And that's going to require sustained investment of the sort that only governments can provide othe people.
