The Role of Imagination in Science

I definitely feel that imagination has a great role to play in science and science. And I think that some of the best scientists are enormously imaginative because they can imagine something before it's actually proven. But then they can also imagine things that don't pan out right and then we say oh that was a fraud. Or that was a person with a great imagination but you know that's not real that's just science fiction. That's poetry. So I think imagination is like this double edged thing and it's also this weird thing that's sort of connected to reason but very different from it at the same time.
