He'd been living in a Russian occupied Donbas for the past eight years since the 2014 hybrid war. He hadn't expressed any pro-Ukrainian identity, he'd come from a good family and there's nothing really remarkable about him. So they selected him to go and try and join up with the Russian military. And that's him, why wouldn't the Russians have been more suspicious of a Ukrainian who suddenly wants to join the Russian army?
