The Psychology of American Outdoor Recreation
There's an interesting psychological aspect as well, just in terms of coming out of this period of war and turning to something like outdoor recreation. But it seemed that outdoor sports kind of got a toehold in American kind of blossom from there. What blew me away was how skiing had really exploded in the decade preceding the war. It's like everything in life goes back to climbing.
