The Importance of Diversity in the Comedy Industry

The only reason you can trade on your ability as a comedian is because you're actually better at it than other people. So if we insist that everyone has exactly the same of everything, well, then what do we have to offer each other? I don't understand how that's commensurate with diversity. "I've kind of like built my career based on that idea that the comedy that was on TV wasn't the funniest version"
