The Importance of Story Mapping in Product Development

There's no set template about how the map is supposed to look in the end when you're first done with it. It's more like work in progress and people actually contribute to how you should slice it. I definitely think that the best way to use story mapping is as a persistent artifact. If the entire customer journey that you're building is there on the wall, sometimes it might be more than one story map.
