Hitler is very clever on how he deals with the leaders of countries that he ultimately wants to annex. He seemingly initially treats them politely, but then once they're there, he's presenting them with his territorial demands. If Schuchnik can make certain concessions, scratch Germany's back, there need be no trouble,. All he requests is that all imprisoned Austrian Nazis be released.
