Preaching the Sermon on the Mount
Matthew, chapter seven concludes the teaching of the sermon on the mount. It begins with a warning against judgment. With the measure you use, it will be measured to you. There is another form of this statement found in luke, chapter seven, verses 37 and 38. Condemn not, and you will not be condemned. Give and you will be forgiven. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. Judge not lest you be judged. Depart from me you workers of lawlessness. Every one then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock," he said.
