Do You Have a Difficult Airway?
The ASA difficult airway algorithm can be used to plan nasal oxygenation. High-flow nasal prongs have been shown to attenuate the desaturation in these patients and they also advocate limiting your intubation attempts to two. If you get a failed intubation, European guidelines advocate for an early placement of a superglock airway what we know is an LMA.
