The Stock Market and the Economy

You don't know if you're in recession until you're already in it. So the recession really means two consecutive quarters of negative growth right now. The fundamentals of the economy won't necessarily get to the stock market in time to affect your trip. And let me just tell you something, Apple, which everybody owns in their 401k because it's in almost every ETF and every mutual fund, is up 33% of the year. It has a market cap of two and a half trillion dollars. That is greater than that of the Russell 2000, which I said is down.
