The Death of the Hoare-Laval Plan

The Hoare-Laval plan was a compromise between Mussolini's earlier demands and the terms put forward by the Committee of Five. It represented more territory than the Italians had taken up to that point but far less than everything which is what the Italians were projected to be able to conquer. When the deal leaked to the British press during December it was received incredibly poorly. Sanctions would continue as they had before but without any noticeable effect on the Italian campaigns.
