The Vexed and Sullen Egypt

The story is certainly has a message just on its surface, but you can also see it in the bigger picture of what's going on with this Egypt. The vegetable garden of Egypt is where when you had the people of Israel talking about all those leeks and onions that they were wanting to get their hands on. They're certainly trying to kind of re-canonize the land by introducing the worship of Baal and Asherah. But at the same time, they're also turning this land into another Egypt. It's into another place of captivity and idolatry.
