Childcare and the Pandemic

More than 5 million people left the labor force when US entered lockdown in March and April. That's almost one in two 45% of mothers of school aged children that left at time of pandemic. And you had a real impact on women and a labor force participation rate that actually went down to the lowest level for women we've seen in 33 years. Child care costs exceed federal definition of affordability in every state, which is defined as 7% of household income.
