The Totem Poles of Vancouver Island

Vancouver Island is the largest island on the west coast of North America. It protects smaller islands in the inland waters from the open Pacific. The body of water, which I used to always think of as Juan de Fuca Strait, Strait of Georgia, Puget Sound now, collectively called the Salish Sea.
