The Special Counsel in the Plea Agreement That Falled Apart on July 26
This case was handled independently by the Justice Department under a leadership of a Trump appointed US attorney as you all know. This is consistent with what the president has been saying for a long while now going way back to his campaign days that he would restore the Department of Justice Independence from political interference from the White House. Tom Winter: We'll just have to wait and see what happens but certainly some long term legal questions for the president's son even though near term there's going to be a back and forth about those gun charges.
