Recovery Time for Older Athletes

There's a common belief that older athletes are more likely to lose all of their fitness if they take, if they take time off. When you're already deconditioned, time off has much greater of an impact than if you go into that time off in the best shape of your life. The muscles are going to respond much quicker, they got a higher blood supply. And it often takes more time to get your joints to a place where they can handle the type of loads that your muscles can handle.
