How to Write a Good Fight Scene
First rule of thumb on fight scenes? Play to the strengths of your medium. If you are writing novels, don't try to write them like a movie. The key when I've been writing action scenes is to make sure that there's lots of emotion. Just as long as there is that tension and conflict. So it isn't like you said a blow-by-blow.
