Even those practices that look solitary are very frequently a collaborative endeavour. We can learn a lot by looking to the serial novelists, Charles Dickens, George Eliot and Alexander Dumas. This does not mean writing to trends, although you may wish to do that; this simply means being conscious of your reader. And we've spoken about quantity, what about the pace of writing?
