The Challenge of Finding Natural Experiments

In economics, you'd be taken to the coals if you didn't have a good natural experiment. It sure seems to me medicines making a huge mistake by not focusing more on natural experiments. Take for example, red meat. There's no way you can look at those studies and think that they are causal. The view of a lot of medicine has been, let's just try to answer it anyway.
