wind parks started to be built during the eighties. And in the beginning, the communities so win parks as a very good opportunity. E d f says it had a community engagement programme and that the project has potentially significant benefits when it comes to cutting omissions and jobs for locals. But some farmers were expecting to be able to continue to work the land around the turbines but some said their access was limited. So when the french energy company, e d f, tried to expand a wind farm, saying it would create jobs, locals pushed back. They decided that they didn't want to have another corporation that, in the end, does understand what the community wants.
