Is Reductionism a Main Physicalist View?

In the last 50 to 70 years, philosophers have been moving toward understanding consciousness as real and irreducible to material aspects. I'm finding it very fascinating to see the problems with alimativism,. The problems with reductionism, the problems also with deriving if you have a kind of non-reductive physicalism and you derive consciousness from shape. For me, when I think about the Legos, it helps me to really get clear on what's at stake.
