The Relationship Between Journalists and Politicians
I have to say you talk about the relationship between journalists and politicians. And certainly I think in those days they were a lot closer, and it's probably a bad thing looking back. But we did have a lot of really good friends that we'd see socially as well. And I can remember that I'd have sort of Blairite friends and Brownite friends. It got very difficult because one would phone you on a Sunday night, the next one on a Monday morning, and they're both absolutely at each other's throats. So it was constantly managing that.
