In the early 70s you were surely thinking stock futures, says Leo. It took nearly a decade to get stock futures out there as they are hugely complex and with dividends it was impossible. If you didn't have to make delivery if you didn't need physical delivery then I could trade indexes and they could be cash settled on the basis of what valuation in money.
