How Did You Meet Buddhism?
When he was 11 years old, Thompson founded an alternative educational and spiritual institute in New York City. His father had been a professor at York University but left to start the Lindisfarne Association. He felt universities weren't really providing the kind of education that he thought was needed for the culture as it existed then. And so from a very early age, I was raised around Buddhism and Buddhist teachers.
