The Difference Between Functional Ticks and Tourette's Syndrome
In years past, when I saw people with some functional ticks, they were always very different from one another. Sudden onset is a clue. Tick disorders like Tourette's syndrome usually begins quite insidiously in young children. In late adolescence, typically symptoms improve and their ticks either are completely resolved or much better by the time they reach late adolescents.
