The Mismatching Effect of Affirmative Action

The way affirmative action works is that students who would ordinarily qualify for no higher than a particular tier get boosted or bumped into a higher tier. In a way, it's like that old game of shoots and ladders we used to play as kids. This is what clyde somers of yale law school and thomasowill call the mismatching effect. The students who are getting bumped up are also being mismatched with the other students attending that institution.
